About Us

Women Owned & Operated Since 1978

THE BRASS BED fine linens and furnishings opened its doors in Cherry Creek North in 1978. Rosella Louis, then a twenty-two year old entrepreneur, got her start selling high-end solid brass and iron beds. It wasn’t long before she realized that in order to properly display the beds, she needed to dress them. At that time, there just weren’t that many options available for bedding. Once Rosella started adding bedding ensembles into the mix, she found that her customers were quite often just as interested in the bedding. Armed with that revelation, Rosella began her search at home and abroad for the finest linens in the world.

After 45 wonderful years, THE BRASS BED fine linens and furnishings is still thriving and in the family. Rosella's daughter, Molly Myers, and daughter-in-law, Olivia Louis, recently took the reins and still sell linens for the bed and bath; bedroom furniture; organic mattresses; gifts and decorative accents. Molly and Olivia still select products from only the best resources for their quality, and their selections feature design that goes beyond the ordinary.

Staffed with interior design, retail and merchandising specialists, THE BRASS BED pairs its lovely and unique offering with customer service that is par excellence. Services include design planning, designer services, home visits, product education, sewing and monogramming.

Almost all bedding falls into one of these two categories.

Percale : a very straightforward basketweave. One cotton yarn is woven over another, called “one over, one under” allowing plenty of air to move freely through your bedding for cool comfort. Percale’s key characteristics could be described as crisp, cool.

Sateen: a denser weave than percale, using three or four yarns over and one under. Sateen bedding offers a luminous sheen, a heavy, sumptuous drape and a slightly warmer sleeping experience. Sateen typically wrinkles less than percale options.

Lyocell is a wood pulp fiber derived from trees with softer grains, traditionally birch, beech and cedar. To the hand, it will feel soft and silky. Lyocell launders easily at home and wrinkles tend to ease and relax, providing a great looking bedding surface that is lustrous and inviting.
