DEA Italy is a house deeply rooted in the textile traditions of Tuscany, where craftsmanship has long been inseparable from beauty. Its story begins with Dea Mantellassi, who entered the world of textiles as a young apprentice before establishing her own workshop in the Tuscan countryside. Bringing together accomplished local artisans in cutting, sewing, and embroidery, she built a company founded on an appreciation for exceptional fabrics and the quiet precision of hand-finished work.

Today, that legacy continues through her family, notably Sabrina and Giulia, whose creative direction carries the family’s traditions forward while embracing a distinctly contemporary sensibility. The spirit of DEA remains one of continuity: a respect for time-honored Italian workmanship, enriched by an evolving vision of color, pattern, and proportion. Every collection reflects this balance between heritage and modernity, with much of the work developed and finished within the company’s own workshops.

Embroidery is perhaps the most intimate expression of DEA Italy’s craftsmanship.
