Local Designer Spotlight, Seek Interior Design
We’re so excited to introduce Kristina Sterling, founder and designer of Seek Interior Design. We’ve had the pleasure of working with her over the years on several projects. She has over 20 years of experience in the industry and started Seek Interior Design in 2000. The company offers a full range of design services. Kristina’s designs come to life through her unique style of mixing transitional pieces and hip color schemes with classic elements and fabrics to create a timeless and classic feel.
It’s important for me to work with my clients to guide them through the process of bringing their vision to life.” – Kristina
More about Kristina…
Kristina recognizes that while her clients are primarily focused on the luxury of working with a designer and the end result, she must also focus on the process, the materials and her industry knowledge. She seeks to provide the finest customer service and scrutinizes every penny as though she’s spending her own money.
She wants “the final spaces to inspire clients” and contributes her success to her ability to customize each project while incorporating current and traditional charm.

How did you get started with Interior Design? What inspired you to get started?
I have always had an interest in Interior Design, but went to school for business and marketing. Once I decided I wanted to be more creative within my degree, I had an opportunity to work for F. Schumacher & Co. That launched me into learning everything I could about fabrics, wallcovering, furniture and accessories. I also had a wonderful mentor, Mary Mazur, who was essential in my knowledge of textiles. From there, I worked for a few other interior design showrooms, then enhanced my construction knowledge by working for some very good designers, and eventually went out on my own. Seek Interior Design is now celebrating 24 years of business.
How do you describe your design and style?
I truly like so many design styles, which is why I enjoy helping people find their own personal style. Sometimes people need an extra nudge to do something a little different, and sometimes I need to help them reel it in.
What areas do you service?
I mostly service Denver and the surrounding areas, however I have worked on projects all over the US and internationally. Last year I worked on a project in Illinois. And I’m currently working on projects in Florida and the Cayman Islands.
Do you have a favorite room you get excited about when working on a home? Why or why not?
I tend to do a lot of kitchens and baths, which I really get excited about the transformations and functionality for the homeowners. I also get excited when someone wants to do their bedroom, which usually involves drapery and bedding. Brings me back to textiles which are so beautiful.
Can you tell us more about creating spaces that honor your client’s personal wishes and lifestyle? How do you get inside their heads to really know what they want?
This may be my favorite part of all. Meeting at the clients existing home and space and discussing what they like and don’t like, expanding on that to get a look they will enjoy for years to come.
Out of all your design services, which one is the most exciting for you?
Connecting with amazing people, whether it be the clients, vendors, contractors, or service people, no doubt my favorite part!
For new clients, how do you describe your process of working together?
I like to set up a consultation to see what their project needs are. Create an organized and fun plan on how to efficiently make smart and beautiful decisions.
