Oh My Mahjong + Brass Bed

Our team here at the Brass Bed fell madly in love with Oh My Mahjong this past winter, and we've been crazy for the game ever since! 

Mahjong is a traditional tile game that originated in China during the 19th century, although its exact origins are debated. It is believed to have developed from earlier Chinese card and domino games and became especially popular during the late Qing dynasty. By the early 20th century, mahjong had spread throughout China and eventually to other countries, including Japan, the United States, and parts of Europe. Different regions developed their own rules and styles, but the basic game involves players drawing and discarding tiles to create specific combinations. Today, mahjong remains a popular game around the world and is an important part of Chinese and East Asian cultural history.

Mahjong is usually played by four people using a set of 144 tiles. Each player takes turns drawing and discarding tiles with the goal of creating matching sets and pairs. Sets can be three of a kind or three tiles in numerical order from the same suit. Players continue drawing and discarding until one player forms a complete winning hand, usually consisting of four sets and one pair. The player who completes the winning hand first wins the round.
